Requirements
You must sign a contract with DeepL. Please choose the tariff "DeepL API". You can find the tariff in the "For Developers" section. Only this tariff allows the integration into LAWLIFT.
Interface
In your account, you will find the "Authentication key for the DeepL API". Please send us this key. The key consists of a longer combination of characters. We will store the key in your account and activate DeepL in LAWLIFT for you.
Functioning, data protection and professional law
The use of DeepL within LAWLIFT is harmless under data protection and professional law provided that intelligent templates are created in accordance with the rules.
The generic texts of an intelligent template are stored unencrypted by us. All client-related entries in the questionnaire are encrypted during the creation of a document.
The translation starts with the creation/editing of the template and not with the creation of the document. The generic texts of the intelligent template are translated. These texts are detached from the client data and pre-formulated for an indefinite number of cases. Only these generically pre-formulated texts are sent unencrypted to DeepL and translated.

Expenses
LAWLIFT does not charge any surcharges for the use of DeepL. DeepL charges you directly for the use of DeepL. We strongly recommend that you set a cost limit at DeepL to protect you from "surprises". DeepL charges per character. However, all characters are counted, i.e. invisible characters such as spaces, tabs, line feeds, XML tags etc. are also counted. These characters guarantee the translation context. Only by sending these characters a good and coherent translation is possible.
