How Can We Help You?

Structure

You have two different options for structuring your text:

Structure in LAWLIFT

Page break

In LAWLIFT, you can specify that a section of text should not be continued until the next page.
To do this, go to the heading that is to appear on the next page and then enter the following command:

::pagebreak

You can also use the short form ::pb

You can also store page breaks within the paragraphs. To do this, enter the command :: pagebreak at the beginning of the paragraph that should appear on the next page.

Restart numbering

You can store in LAWLIFT that the numbering should start again from a certain heading.

To do this, go to the heading from which the numbering should restart and enter the following command:

::restartnumbering

You can also use the short form ::rn

You can also combine the commands.

You can check this in the preview:

Structure your letterhead in Word

You can also use your letterhead template to structure the text segments. This is particularly useful if you want to insert tables of contents or static images or if you want page numbers to start over from a certain point.

Text anchors must always contain the word TEXT and should therefore only be numbered consecutively {@ TEXT2}; {@ TEXT3} etc.

For example, add a page or section break in your letterhead template and then add the text anchor.

If you have set special text anchors in the Word document (eg {@ TEXT2}, you have to link these text anchors in LAWLIFT at the appropriate places.

To do this, click on the template in the dashboard that you want to edit. Now click on the heading from which the new text anchor should apply. Click on the three gray dots and then on TEXT FIELD.

Now enter the name of your special text anchor in the field in which {@TEXT} is written by default. For example:

To confirm, click the tick on the right.

Proceed in the same way for all headings whose text should appear separately in the Word document.

Delete

Tip

Text anchors in tables/text fields

When exporting to Word, more and more problems can occur when opening the document (in the form of an error message) if text anchors are used in tables. Problems arise when not all text fields are defined in the template due to rules.

This can be solved in the letterhead template by inserting the fields containing the text anchors as text fields instead of the table.
